Junior Fife and Drum Camp is completely volunteer run. No staff member is paid for his or her service and most of our staff take vacation time from work to volunteer at camp. We do this to keep the cost of attendance as low as possible for families. What we do have to pay for with real money is room and board for campers, chaperones, and instructors - divided out per camper, the cost of camp is $350.
Our dedicated, volunteer staff members work tirelessly year-round to fundraise to provide scholarships for camp. In some cases, through the Green Team, scholarships are raised by recycling $.05 cans - one can at a time. It does add up, but it is a lot of work! We welcome your support. How?
First, you can help send young fifers and drummers to camp by donating full or partial Roy Watrous musician scholarships. Every amount helps and is so appreciated and needed!
Or, if you prefer, you can donate to the Camp Fund. This pays for necessary administrative costs associated with running camp. As you can imagine, there are quite a few of those! Without this fund, the camp staff pays for items out-of-pocket.
